The film "THE EYES", starring actor Shin Mina, has surpassed 1 million viewers nationwide.
Distributor BY4M Studio announced on the afternoon of the 9th that "'THE EYES' surpassed 1 million viewers as of 2:30 PM on Thursday, July 9 (based on the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie theater tickets)."
Reaching the 1 million mark just 16 days after its release, the film is performing two days faster than "Noise", which led the box office for genre films last summer with a cumulative total of 1.7 million viewers.
"THE EYES" has shown a steady upward trend, drawing more viewers in its second week than in its first, and maintaining that momentum into its third week. During the weekdays of its third week, it even surpassed "Toy Story 5" to take the number one spot at the box office. It is currently maintaining a top-three position following the release of "Moana".
"THE EYES" is a suspense thriller about Seo-jin, who is gradually losing her sight due to a genetic disease, as she uncovers the truth behind the suspicious death of her twin sibling. The film stars Shin Mina and Kim Nam-hee and is directed by newcomer Yeom Ji-ho.
