Police are investigating an incident in which a male middle school student suddenly attacked a resident with a weapon at an apartment complex in Guri, Gyeonggi Province.
According to the Guri Police Station on Thursday, July 9, a teenager identified as A attacked a 40-year-old female resident, B, with a weapon on a street within an apartment complex in Guri at approximately 8:00 p.m. on July 8.
B, who sustained injuries to her shoulder and other areas, was transported to a hospital and underwent surgery, including stitches.
Fortunately, her life is not in danger.
It is reported that A is a juvenile under the age of 14, classified as a "chokbeop sonyeon" (a minor who cannot be held criminally liable), and had no prior acquaintance with B.
The police, determining that A has mental health issues, have placed him under emergency hospitalization and are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
