Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) CEO Lee Seong-hun visited the Seoripul District in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on July 8, marking his first official field activity since taking office.
CEO Lee inspected the current status of the project and instructed staff to accelerate the housing construction timeline by more than one year from the original plan.
The Seoripul District is a key project site for expanding housing supply in the Seoul metropolitan area, with a total capacity of up to 20,000 households—18,000 in District 1 and 2,000 in District 2.
LH plans to apply for the District 1 development plan this month, obtain approval in the first half of next year, proceed with compensation procedures in the second half, and begin construction in 2028.
LH intends to develop the Seoripul District as a model for the government's new housing policy by expanding youth public rental housing in prime locations such as areas near subway stations, and by providing specialized housing, including new mid-sized units for newlyweds and households with newborns.
"Supplying housing rapidly in areas with high demand is a crucial task for achieving stability in the real estate market," said CEO Lee. "We will pour all our available resources into housing supply so that homeless citizens, young people, and newlyweds can reside stably in the Seoul area."
