The Democratic Party of Korea announced today, July 8, that it has expelled a party member who posted synthetic pornographic images of Representative Lee Un-ju online.
Democratic Party Chief Spokesperson Kang Joon-hyun met with reporters at the National Assembly today following a Supreme Council meeting. He stated, "We became aware of a situation where a synthetic image containing offensive language regarding Representative Lee was posted, damaging her honor and character. We have decided to take emergency disciplinary action against the individual who produced and distributed it."
The Democratic Party also plans to file a formal complaint against the poster under the name of the party's National Communication Committee.
Previously, Representative Lee's office also announced that it would take legal action after discovering that synthetic images of the lawmaker had been created and posted online.
