▲ A 40-year-old taekwondo gym employee accused of attempting to murder her husband with drugged alcohol leaves the Incheon District Court's Bucheon Branch after undergoing a pre-arrest interrogation (warrant validity review) on the afternoon of the 9th of last month.

A taekwondo gym employee and her accomplice, a gym director, have both admitted to all charges during their first trial for attempting to murder the employee's husband using drugged alcohol and a weapon.

During the first trial held today (July 8) presided over by the First Criminal Division of the Incheon District Court's Bucheon Branch (Presiding Judge Na Sang-hoon), the attorneys for the 40-year-old female employee, identified as A, and the 20-year-old female director, identified as B, who were indicted on charges including attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder, stated, "We admit to all the facts of the indictment."

The attorney for B stated, "The defendant admits to all the facts of the indictment and is deeply reflecting on her actions," adding, "She also offers a sincere apology to the victim."

The attorney for A also stated that their position was the same.

The husband of A is scheduled to appear as a witness in the next trial.

A and her accomplice are accused of attempting to murder A's husband three times between April 26 and June 6 at A's home in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, using drugged alcohol and a weapon.

Investigations revealed that after searching for methods of poisoning on the internet, they mixed a psychotropic tranquilizer into soju and offered it to A's husband; when he did not drink it, they placed it in the refrigerator.

They also attempted to deliver soju spiked with tranquilizers to A's husband by placing it in his home mailbox, and they attacked him with a weapon, inflicting an injury to the back of his neck that required five weeks of medical treatment.
