▲ 5.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Sichuan, Southwestern China

A 5.0-magnitude earthquake has struck Yibin, Sichuan Province, in southwestern China.

This tremor occurred nine days after a 5.5-magnitude earthquake hit the same region on June 29.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, the 5.0-magnitude quake was recorded in Gao County, Yibin, at 6:12 a.m. local time today (July 8).

The epicenter was located at 28.52 degrees north latitude and 104.68 degrees east longitude, with a focal depth of 8 km.

China Central Television (CCTV) reported that five aftershocks ranging from magnitude 3.0 to 4.0 have been observed since the initial earthquake.

There have been no immediate reports of casualties or property damage.

During the 5.5-magnitude earthquake on June 29, 13 residents sustained minor injuries, and 196 people were evacuated.

The previous quake caused various damages, including cracks in 21 houses and road damage at 12 locations due to landslides and falling rocks.
