Police are currently searching for a Vietnamese man in his 20s who escaped from an immigration detention center in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.

The Hwaseong Seobu Police Station received a report from the detention center at approximately 9:50 p.m. yesterday (July 7), stating that a detainee had escaped.

An official at the facility discovered the individual was missing during a routine patrol and notified the police.

The escapee, identified as A, had reportedly been detained for violating the Immigration Control Act.

Police are currently tracking the man by analyzing CCTV footage from the area surrounding the detention center.
