Actors Hwang Jung-min and Zo In-sung shared their experience of acting while imagining their counterparts, a first in their respective careers, for the film 'HOPE'.

Attending a press preview held at Megabox COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on the afternoon of July 6, Hwang spoke about the experience of acting while imagining aliens, saying, "It was my first time acting in this way. It must have been unfamiliar not only to me but to all of our actors. I think we pondered a lot on how to maximize our imagination."

He added, "There was actually nothing in front of us, but the director gave us details such as the height and gaze of the aliens. We performed with thoroughly calculated movements from before filming began."

Zo In-sung also remarked, "It was certainly not an easy task to act in a state where there was nothing there," adding, "However, what I tried not to lose sight of was the fear Seong-gi faced and the energy to survive. I remember focusing on the breathing to maintain this mood, though I am not sure if you felt it while watching the movie."

Although both are veteran actors with over 20 years of experience, 'HOPE' marks their first challenge in the sci-fi genre. Furthermore, because they played characters struggling against aliens, they had to act while imagining characters that would be completed through CGI. In the film unveiled on this day, the two actors amplified the movie's energy by expressing the sudden fear they faced and their rage toward the relentless crises with passionate acting.

'HOPE' tells the story that begins when Beom-seok, the head of the Hopohang branch located in the Demilitarized Zone, hears news from local youths that a tiger has appeared, and the entire village faces an unbelievable reality as it goes on high alert. The film is set to be released on July 15.
