Students from the baseball team at Pai Chai High School in Seoul, who sparked controversy for using cheers that disparaged the May 18 Democratization Movement, visited Gwangju today (July 6) to offer an official apology.

Approximately 80 people, including all members of the Pai Chai High School baseball team, their parents, and school staff, visited Gwangju Jeil High School at 3:00 p.m. today to express their remorse.

The team captain, identified as student A, read an apology stating that all players are deeply reflecting on their actions and have realized the importance of character beyond just baseball. The head coach of the Pai Chai High School baseball team also offered an apology, acknowledging that the incident was an inexcusable mistake and stating that he feels the greatest responsibility as a leader.
