Three teenage girls have been booked by police on charges of assaulting a peer.
The Gimpo Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced today (July 6) that they arrested two teenage girls as suspects in the act for special assault and have identified and booked a third individual.
The suspects are accused of punching and striking a teenage girl, identified as A, multiple times on a street in Gochon-eup, Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, around 1:40 a.m. today.
It was reported that during the assault, they also committed acts of cruelty by sticking duct tape to the victim's face and pulling it off.
Police, who were dispatched following a report from the victim, arrested two of the suspects at the scene and released them to their guardians after completing initial investigations, including identity verification.
The police plan to investigate the specific circumstances of the incident, noting that some of the suspects were reportedly acquaintances of the victim.
