Police have launched an investigation after a threatening post claiming that President Lee Jae-myung would be assassinated was uploaded to social media.

The Seoul Hyehwa Police Station announced today (July 6) that they are tracking the individual who posted the message threatening to assassinate President Lee Jae-myung.

It was determined that the author posted the same threatening message five times on their social media account around 6:30 a.m. today.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency received a report around 9:30 a.m. stating that a post threatening to assassinate President Lee Jae-myung had been uploaded to social media and subsequently assigned the case to the Hyehwa Police Station.
