Disposable chopsticks, spoons, towels, and dishcloths, which currently lack separate microbial contamination standards such as for bacteria and E. coli, will soon be available for sale in individual units rather than in bulk packages.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced that it is pre-announcing amendments to the enforcement decree and enforcement rules of the Sanitary Products Management Act, which will establish new categories for sanitary product repacking businesses and consumer refill sales businesses.

This amendment was prepared to specify the items eligible for repacking and refilling ahead of the law's implementation on December 31, 2026.

According to the amendment, detergents and rinse aids will be available for sale through consumer refill businesses, allowing them to be dispensed into containers.
