Han Byung-do, the acting leader and floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced today (July 6) that he will "expand the task force for the three mega projects into a special committee directly under the acting party leader to establish a party-wide support system that oversees legislation, budget, and regulatory innovation."

During the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly today, Acting Leader Han stated, "These mega projects are national strategic initiatives for the next century, and they are tasks of the era that must be successfully achieved by the government, the National Assembly, local governments, and businesses working together as one team."

He pointed out, "While foreign countries have been competing to attract our companies by offering more support, these companies have decided to invest domestically, considering national competitiveness. The People Power Party is using even this as a tool for political strife by mobilizing outdated regional sentiments."

He added, "Which citizen would find it acceptable for the People Power Party to push corporate investment decisions and national growth strategies toward parliamentary investigations and special counsel probes? What politics should be doing is providing bipartisan support, not obstruction."

Furthermore, he remarked, "We will proceed with follow-up legislation, including the special act for mega special zones, and budget support without any setbacks. We urge the People Power Party to stop its obstruction and join this bold journey."

Meanwhile, regarding the incident where Representative Lee Un-ju suffered from the distribution of deepfake pornographic material, Acting Leader Han criticized the act as "clear violence and an act of character assassination."

He continued, "The Democratic Party will apply a zero-tolerance policy at the central party level and take strong legal action. We also urge investigative authorities to conduct an immediate and strict investigation to bring not only the original creator but also those who distributed and shared the content to justice."
