Actor and artist Park Shin-yang will hold a large-scale special exhibition at the Incheon Culture & Arts Center in Namdong-gu, Incheon, starting July 9.

The Incheon Culture & Arts Center announced that it will host Park's exhibition, titled "The Fourth Wall," from July 9 to August 2, marking its first special invitational exhibition since its reopening.

Beyond his public recognition, Park has established a unique position in the Korean art scene with his intense expressionist temperament and original sense of color. Unbound by institutional art education, he has dedicated himself solely to the language of painting for the past 14 years.

Park is recognized for achieving a deep sincerity that transcends mere technique, pouring his inner passion onto the canvas through persistent observation and a strong will to express the maximum potential of human emotion.

The exhibition title, "The Fourth Wall," is a theatrical term referring to the invisible boundary between the stage and the audience. This exhibition reflects Park's intention to redefine art not as an object of possession, but as a value of sharing and communication, aiming to break down the psychological wall between the artist and the audience.

Having created approximately 200 works over the past 14 years, Park has never sold his original paintings, choosing instead to engage with the public exclusively through exhibitions.

The 120 paintings to be unveiled in this exhibition reflect the deep inner world of an artist who traverses the two worlds of pop culture and fine art.

In conjunction with this invitational exhibition, excellent pieces from the Incheon Art Bank collection will also be showcased.

Furthermore, all net profits from the sale of exhibition merchandise will be donated to "Art Rain," a signature donation project by the Incheon Foundation for Arts & Culture, to support the development of local culture and arts and the creative activities of artists.

To help visitors better understand the works, two "Art & Talk" sessions will be held during the exhibition period, where Park will serve as a docent.

Detailed schedules and application methods for these programs will be announced later on the Incheon Culture & Arts Center website.

An official from the center stated, "This exhibition will be a valuable step in broadening the artistic horizon of Incheon as a 'City of Culture,'" adding, "We hope many citizens will find warm artistic comfort and inspiration that enriches their lives in this open space."

The exhibition is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (last admission at 5:30 p.m.), and is open to visitors aged 8 and older.
