The official death toll from the powerful earthquake in Venezuela has surpassed 2,954, with more than 16,000 people injured.

Although rescue operations have been underway for more than ten days, there have been no reports of additional survivors since a security guard named Hernan was dramatically pulled from the rubble of a collapsed building three days ago.
