A fire broke out in the basement of a multi-unit house in Sanseong-dong, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, at approximately 2:35 p.m. today (July 5).

Fire authorities deployed about 20 pieces of equipment and 60 personnel, extinguishing the blaze by around 3:15 p.m.

The fire left two residents injured, including a man in his 70s who sustained serious injuries, while five others were evacuated.

It was determined that the unit where the fire started was vacant at the time.

Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
