A man in his 60s, identified as A, fell into a reservoir in Danwon-gu, Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, at approximately 8:37 p.m. today (July 4).

Fire authorities were dispatched following a report from a witness who stated, "A person slipped and fell into the water." After conducting an underwater search, they rescued A in a state of cardiac arrest at around 10:00 p.m.

A was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but passed away while receiving treatment.

It was determined that A had visited the reservoir to go fishing on the day of the accident.

The police currently do not suspect any foul play, such as homicide, and are investigating the circumstances while keeping all possibilities open, including an accidental death.
