A passenger bus plunged into a 25-meter ravine on the Dana Sar highway in Pakistan on July 3 (local time), leaving 40 people dead and 8 injured.

It was reported that the bus was overloaded at the time of the accident, as it was carrying its original passengers along with those from another bus that had broken down.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on statements from survivors, who claimed that when the driver stopped to pick up passengers from the broken-down bus, some passengers protested. During the ensuing dispute, one passenger reportedly grabbed the driver by the neck, shortly after which the bus lost control and fell into the ravine.
