Monsoon Rain in Southern Regions, Showers in Seoul Metropolitan Area; Nationwide Alert from Tomorrow

Today, Saturday (July 4), monsoon rain will gradually expand to the southern parts of the Chungcheong region.

Looking at the current radar imagery, rain clouds are passing through the Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsangnam-do regions.

By the end of today, 5 to 30 mm of rain is expected in Jeju Island, up to 60 mm in southern Jeollanam-do, and 5 to 40 mm in other parts of Jeollabuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do. The southern Chungcheong and southern Gyeongsangbuk-do regions, which the rain clouds will reach starting tonight, will see smaller amounts of rain, around 5 to 10 mm.

Meanwhile, showers are expected in the Seoul metropolitan area until the afternoon, and in other Chungcheong regions during the afternoon.

The monsoon rain today will also see many areas experiencing lulls.

With the central regions mainly seeing clouds today, ultraviolet rays will also be strong.

Looking at current temperatures, Seoul is at 23.2°C (74°F).

High temperatures will continue with muggy heat, with the perceived temperature reaching around 31°C (88°F).

Starting tomorrow afternoon, monsoon rain is expected to continue nationwide as the country comes under the influence of a stationary front.
