The police team leader in charge of the investigation provided the residential address and door lock password of Jang Yun-gi to his father, Inspector Jang. It has been revealed that Inspector Jang also frequently communicated with other members of the investigation team, prompting the National Police Agency to launch an internal inspection.

Inspector Jang did not know where his son, Jang Yun-gi, who brutally murdered the late Lee Chae-won, was living before he was apprehended, as they had been living apart.

However, he was able to visit his son's studio apartment on May 8 and dispose of two real dolls because he had received relevant information from the police.

It has been confirmed that this information was relayed to Inspector Jang by the team leader in charge of the Jang Yun-gi case at the Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station.

The investigation team leader is understood to have provided Inspector Jang with not only Jang Yun-gi's address but also the password for his door lock.

According to SBS reporting, circumstances have also emerged suggesting that a key investigator on the same team, identified as A, leaked investigation-related information through multiple phone calls with Inspector Jang.

Inspector Jang was already acquainted with both individuals, and investigator A, in particular, had previously worked with him at the same workplace.

As allegations arise that the investigation team for the high school student murder case effectively acted as a bridge between the father and son, the police have moved quickly.

The National Police Agency's inspection team reportedly questioned the Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station investigation team yesterday (July 3) regarding the overall initial investigation.

The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency stated to SBS, "We humbly accept the inspection. We will cooperate faithfully and according to principle."

However, they clarified, "We understand that there was no instance of the investigation team aiding in the destruction of evidence or leaking information."

The National Police Agency explained that it intends to examine all raised allegations and plans to conduct an in-person interview with Inspector Jang as soon as the review of records is completed.
