Spain, considered a strong contender for the title at the North and Central American World Cup, has advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Austria. Oyarzabal led the victory by scoring multiple goals.

Spain dominated Austria from the beginning, led by 18-year-old prodigy Yamal, but struggled to find the back of the net early on.

In the 29th minute of the first half, Cucurella found the net with a left-footed shot, but the goal was disallowed due to a foul by a teammate. Subsequent sharp shots from Yamal and Oyarzabal were also blocked by the goalkeeper.

The frustrating flow of the game changed in an instant in the 36th minute of the first half.

Oyarzabal connected with a low, fast cross from Cucurella on the flank, firing a left-footed shot to score the opening goal.

Building on their momentum, Spain extended their lead in the 21st minute of the second half.

Poro, a former Tottenham teammate of Son Heung-min, headed in a cross from Baena to widen the gap. In the final moments of the second half, Oyarzabal, the scorer of the opening goal, sealed the victory with his fourth goal of the tournament.

Spain, which boasted a solid defense by not allowing a single shot on target throughout the match, won 3-0 and advanced to the round of 16.
