The truth behind the attack on a promising young politician, which has spiraled into suspicions of a staged incident, will be revealed.

On the episode of SBS 'Curious Stories Y' airing on Friday, July 3, the program will delve into the attack on former Busan mayoral candidate Jeong Yi-han of the Reform Party, which shook Busan during the June 3 local elections, and the secret hidden behind it.

Jeong was a rising star in Busan politics, boasting a golden resume that included serving as an aide in a People Power Party office and as an official in the Prime Minister's Secretariat. However, his political career was thrown into turmoil last April when he collapsed after being struck by a cup thrown by an assailant during a campaign event.

At the time, his campaign team strongly condemned the violence, stating that Jeong had been diagnosed with a concussion. The political sphere also called for a thorough investigation, labeling the incident a case of political terrorism against a promising young politician.

However, the testimonies of citizens who witnessed the scene were different. A witness, Ha Min-ji (pseudonym), raised questions in an interview with the production team, saying, "He didn't seem to be hit directly by the bottle; it looked like he just fell slightly while trying to dodge it, and I wondered if it was really necessary to react that way." As the police investigation progressed, reports emerged that the man who threw the drink was an acquaintance of Jeong, and evidence of the two exchanging messages before the incident surfaced, quickly turning the case into a suspected staged event.

As the controversy grew out of control, Jeong suddenly announced his retirement from politics after the election and disappeared from the public eye. While tracking his whereabouts as he remained silent without a clear explanation, the production team encountered suspicions surrounding his entire journey from entering politics to his subsequent actions, going beyond just this attack.

People around Jeong pointed to his father. One source made a bombshell statement, saying, "The son is just a supporting actor. The father planned everything and just placed his son in that position." The father, who is at the center of these suspicions, is a well-known medical figure who operates a large hospital in the region, leading to claims that he may have influenced Jeong's political path and the background of this incident.
