A 70-year-old angler in Jeju has been transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest after falling from tetrapods.
According to the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters and the Jeju Coast Guard on Friday (July 3), the victim, identified as A, fell into the sea while walking on tetrapods at a port in Dodu-dong, Jeju City, at 9:27 p.m. on Thursday (July 2).
When the 119 emergency rescue team arrived at the scene, A had already been rescued by nearby citizens.
A was in cardiac arrest and was transported to a hospital while receiving emergency treatment, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), from the 119 rescue team.
Fire and maritime authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
