Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, stated on Wednesday (local time) that coordination is underway to resume working-level talks for negotiations between the United States and Iran to end the war.

Gharibabadi, who is leading the Iranian working-level negotiation team and is currently in Doha, Qatar, met with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, he explained, "Today's talks focused on reviewing the follow-up implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)."

Regarding negotiations for a final agreement, Gharibabadi stated, "Working groups for the implementation of the MOU and for a final agreement have already been formed, but substantive negotiations within this framework have not yet begun."

He added, "Consultations are continuing through mediators to determine the timing and location for the working group negotiations, and the talks will begin as soon as the necessary conditions are met."

According to Iran's state-run IRNA news agency, during the meeting between the Iranian working-level team led by Gharibabadi and the Qatari Prime Minister's side, who are acting as mediators, both sides reviewed the progress of the implementation of the MOU to end the war and discussed matters of mutual interest, including obstacles encountered during the implementation process.

The agency added that Iran and Qatar specifically reviewed concrete measures to accelerate the implementation of the MOU provisions, including issues related to Lebanon, the removal of existing obstacles, and the expansion of bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest.

Gharibabadi explained that immediately following the meeting, a trilateral session involving chief negotiators from Iran, Qatar, and Pakistan was held to conduct an in-depth review of the current status of the MOU implementation.
