A man in his 50s who had been illegally collecting parking fees from a neighbor at a villa managed by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) has been apprehended by police after threatening the neighbor with a weapon for reporting him to LH.

The Incheon Namdong Police Station announced that it has booked the man, identified as A, without detention on charges of special intimidation.

A is accused of threatening a neighbor in his 60s, identified as B, with a weapon in the parking lot of a villa in Namdong-gu, Incheon, at around 7:00 PM on June 29.

Investigations revealed that although A was not the building manager, he had been demanding monthly parking fees from B for parking his truck in the lot, collecting approximately 500,000 won.

After B discovered that A had no authority to collect parking fees, he reported the situation to LH. A, harboring a grudge, then threatened B with a weapon.

Police, who were dispatched following a 112 emergency call, arrested A at the scene and subsequently placed him under emergency hospitalization.

A police official stated, "We took the measure of emergency hospitalization to ensure stable treatment, as there was a possibility that A might threaten B again."
