Do you remember the presidential policy briefings by government ministries held last December, which were broadcast live in their entirety for the first time, touring Sejong, Seoul, and Busan?

[Voice (December 12, 2025): It has been three years, yet I get the feeling that you still haven't grasped the work accurately.]

[Voice (December 16, 2025): Yes, you handled it very well. (Yes, thank you.) Please give them a round of applause. I heard you responded by creating a website as an emergency measure.]

President Lee Jae-myung will preside over the second round of government ministry policy briefings at the Blue House, held nine times from the 15th to the 21st of this month.

The purpose is to check whether the contents reported by each ministry during the year-end briefings are being properly implemented.

The Blue House stated that these briefings were arranged to inform the public in detail about the achievements and future plans of livelihood-focused policies, which are being pushed for tangible changes in the lives of the people.

The briefings will cover 140 public institutions, including the Office for Government Policy Coordination, 19 ministries, 6 offices, 18 administrations, and 7 commissions. This time, a citizen observation group will also be in attendance.

President Lee posted on social media, stating, "We are starting the first ministry policy briefings where the government and the people are together," and announced the recruitment of 200 citizen observers.

The Blue House explained that a new citizen-participatory briefing format is being introduced, where the public, as the sovereign, can directly receive the briefings with the President and ask questions.

As before, the entire process will be broadcast live via platforms such as YouTube.

The full live-streamed government policy briefings, first attempted at the end of last year, drew attention as President Lee was seen directly questioning or pressing heads of public institutions and civil servants.

While critics, mainly from the opposition, argued that it was a "show" or an attempt to humiliate agency heads from the previous administration, President Lee maintained the live-streaming policy, stating that public interest is high and that "state affairs should be transparently disclosed to the people."

[Voice (December 16, 2025): I think the viewership ratings for today's policy briefing might be very high. There is a rumor that it is more interesting than Netflix these days... That wouldn't be the case, would it?]

Recruitment for the citizen observation group for the government ministry policy briefings begins today and runs through Monday, July 6, via President Lee Jae-myung's Facebook, YouTube, X, and Instagram accounts.
