The local tax system, Wetax, is experiencing service disruptions today (July 1), preventing the reporting and payment of local taxes, including automobile taxes.

Previously, due to system integration work following administrative reorganization, the online local tax reporting and payment service, Wetax, suspended services twice: from 6:00 PM on June 26 to 8:00 AM on June 29, and from 6:00 PM on June 30 to 8:00 AM today.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety had planned to resume services at 8:00 AM today, but the system has not yet normalized.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety believes that an error occurred due to an increase in data processing volume within the local tax system, which subsequently caused the disruption in Wetax services.

In preparation for potential issues during the system integration process, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety has proactively extended the deadline for local tax reporting and payments to July 3.

There will be no disadvantages, such as additional penalties, for payments made within the extended deadline.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to consider further extending the payment deadline if the system error persists.
