The film 'Happyend,' which captivated arthouse fans in 2025, has surpassed 140,000 cumulative admissions following a successful visit by its director and cast to commemorate the first anniversary of its release.
'Happyend' is a coming-of-age drama that tells the story of two friends, Yuta and Kou, who face subtle cracks in their friendship alongside the cracks in the world in a near-future Tokyo overshadowed by the threat of earthquakes.
The return visit for 'Happyend,' which began on June 26, drew attention as it was filled with enthusiastic responses from audiences who welcomed director Neo Sora and the two lead actors, Hayato Kurihara and Yukito Hidaka.

Director Neo Sora and the actors shared their thoughts, saying, "We want to keep coming back to Korea because the Korean audience welcomes us so warmly every time we visit." Hayato Kurihara added, "I am truly surprised and sincerely grateful that most of the theaters were filled even though a year has passed. I will make an effort to visit Korea again."
Yukito Hidaka also expressed his feelings, stating, "I am so happy that so many people love 'Happyend.' I want to continue visiting Korea in the future."
Proving the heat of this return visit, 'Happyend' surpassed 140,000 in cumulative audience numbers on June 27.
