With the live-action adaptation of the animated film Moana set for release next month, actor Dwayne Johnson, who plays the legendary hero Maui, said he wanted to portray Maui's vulnerability in the live-action version.

[I have only one thing to say: You're welcome.]

The live-action Moana tells the story of a young girl named Moana who embarks on an adventure with Maui to save the cursed island of Motunui.

The film is based on the first animated Moana movie.

Dwayne Johnson, who provided the voice for Maui in the animation, appears in person for this version.

Maui is a character with exceptional abilities and overflowing confidence, but he also carries wounds from his childhood.

Johnson said he wanted to emphasize Maui's weaker side.

He added that while the character is playful and charming, he wanted to add authenticity since a human is playing the role, and he wanted to show that vulnerability exists alongside masculinity.
