Seven egg processing facilities have been caught for poor hygiene practices, including failing to conduct quality inspections and neglecting mandatory hygiene training.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced that it conducted a comprehensive inspection of 239 facilities that produce items such as rolled omelets, egg salads, and roasted eggs in collaboration with local governments. The inspection revealed that seven of these facilities violated the Livestock Products Sanitary Control Act.

The violations included three cases of failing to perform self-quality inspections, two cases of failing to complete hygiene training, and two cases of violating business compliance regulations.

Local governments plan to impose administrative penalties on these facilities and verify whether improvements have been made within six months.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and local governments also collected 233 egg products to test for food poisoning bacteria and residual veterinary drugs, but reported that all samples were found to be safe.
