Man in His 50s Referred to Prosecution After Beating Acquaintance to Death While Drinking

A man who beat an acquaintance to death while they were drinking together has been referred to the prosecution under arrest.
The Seoul Hyehwa Police Station announced today (June 29) that it has referred a man in his 50s, identified as A, to the prosecution on charges of murder.
A is accused of assaulting his acquaintance, B, a person in their 40s, while under the influence of alcohol in Jongno-gu, Seoul, at approximately 12:50 p.m. on June 20, resulting in B's death.
After B lost consciousness and collapsed, A reportedly called 119, stating that "someone is dead," and subsequently added, "I might be the suspect."
Police, who were dispatched following a request for cooperation, arrested A at the scene and detained him on June 22.
B was transported to a hospital but eventually passed away.
The specific motive for A's crime has not yet been determined.
