▲ Citizens claiming election fraud chant slogans in front of the Handball Gymnasium at Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on the 7th, as the 'Jamsil Vote Counting Center blockade protest' continues, demanding a re-election while condemning the shortage of ballots during the June 3 local elections.

As the 'Jamsil Vote Counting Center blockade protest' enters its 25th day, the number of suspects under police investigation for illegal activities continues to rise.
An official from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated during a regular press briefing today (June 29), "We are currently conducting 57 investigations related to the Jamsil vote counting center, with one case closed. There are 139 individuals under investigation."
First, nine people have been booked for obstructing the Korea Sports Council's access to the Handball Gymnasium (obstruction of business), and the identities of seven of them have been confirmed.
Authorities have also identified five individuals who were caught rummaging through the personal belongings of the women's youth national handball team without permission, and some have already been questioned.
The remaining individuals have also been notified to appear for questioning.
Six people have been booked for charges including assaulting journalists, with five identified, while 11 investigations are underway regarding insults and obstruction of justice directed at police officers.
A woman in her 40s was arrested on the 23rd for swearing at and spitting on a police officer.
Regarding online posts spreading false information, such as claims that "the police officers on-site are Chinese police," the police requested the Korea Communications Standards Commission to delete or block 286 posts, 148 of which have been removed.
In addition, there have been 44 cases of assault, public intimidation, and insults among the protesters.
The police have deployed a total of approximately 200 police units over the 22 days from the 5th, when the protest began in front of the Handball Gymnasium, to the 26th.
At least three units were deployed at night, and up to seven units were deployed during the day on weekends.
The police explained that the riot police, along with communication police, investigation teams, and officers from local police stations, are focusing on maintaining order, managing crowds and safety, and preventing disputes and friction among participants.
The police plan to maintain an appropriate level of personnel until the situation on-site stabilizes.
A police official warned again, "We will guarantee the freedom of expression related to the infringement of suffrage to the fullest extent, but we will respond strictly to clear illegal acts according to law and principle."

Meanwhile, the police stated that they will continue the investigation into Morse Tan (Korean name: Dan Hyun-myung), a professor at Liberty University in the U.S. who is accused of defaming President Lee Jae-myung, based on police investigation records and evidence secured since the 25th.
Professor Tan is currently under a travel ban until the 30th.
When asked about the possibility of extending the travel ban, a police official replied, "It is difficult to comment on immigration regulations," adding, "We will carry out all necessary measures for the investigation."
The police official noted that while Professor Tan was originally scheduled to be summoned on the 24th, he did not comply, citing concerns about media exposure, and appeared privately the following day. The official added that the schedule for the 24th had been disclosed by Tan himself.
