President Lee Jae-myung is scheduled to meet with the third-term floor leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea on July 1, the same day he is set to have lunch with former President Moon Jae-in, to discuss legislative tasks and pending party issues.

According to SBS reporting, President Lee plans to host a dinner for the floor leadership, including Han Byung-do, the acting party leader and floor leader of the Democratic Party, at the Blue House on the evening of July 1.

This will be the first dinner meeting with the third-term floor leadership and their first gathering since the leadership was launched about two months ago.

As floor leader Han Byung-do has expressed his intention to complete the formation of the National Assembly's standing committees by tomorrow, June 30, the discussion at the dinner on July 1 is expected to focus on the results of the committee formation and key legislative tasks for the second half of the National Assembly.

Issues central to prosecution reform, such as the scope of supplementary investigation powers and the special counsel bill regarding alleged distorted indictments, may also be on the table.

Furthermore, as an luncheon with former President Moon Jae-in is scheduled prior to the dinner with the floor leadership, there is a possibility that discussions held with the former president will be shared.

There are also expectations that the meeting will cover a wide range of topics, including an assessment of and potential solutions for the deepening internal party conflict over the next party leadership.
