Broadcaster Choi Wook has directly denied various allegations that have been circulating online.
On June 26, the YouTube channel 'Choi Wook's Maebul Show' resumed live broadcasting after a two-week hiatus. In the opening, Choi shared his thoughts on returning with a bright expression, saying, "It feels awkward and nerve-wracking to be back after a while. I am happy. This is happiness. I wonder how many things have changed." He then joked, "Many of you might have expected me to look different, but I just got a haircut, and everything else is the same."
Kwak Soo-san, who appeared alongside him, said, "I was worried you might have lost weight," to which Choi replied with a laugh, "I actually gained a lot of weight during the break." Indeed, Choi appeared slightly heavier than he was before the hiatus.
Afterward, Choi addressed the various rumors that had spread online during his absence. He drew a line, stating, "There were so many fake news stories claiming that I had conflicts with the writers over author Rhyu Si-min's appearance. None of it is true at all." He added firmly, "I know exactly who created them and who amplified them. I am not a fool."
He continued with a pointed remark, saying, "I have no intention of criticizing or blaming those people. However, it will be difficult to trust them in the future."
Previously, 'Choi Wook's Maebul Show' went on a two-week hiatus for the first time since the show began. At the time, the production team explained the reason for the break as "a period of reorganization due to personnel changes."
However, unverified rumors subsequently spread online, alleging that there had been a conflict with the internal writing staff regarding Rhyu Si-min's appearance, and that some writers had left the program as a result.
