The Ministry of the Interior and Safety is considering the abolition of the 'Resident Registration Card Mobile Verification Service' due to growing concerns over forgery and falsification.

This service, distinct from the 'Mobile Resident Registration Card' which serves as a legal digital identification, has been used for convenient identity verification at locations such as restaurants and airports after being issued through platforms like Government24 or PASS apps.

With the possibility of forgery using AI being raised, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to make a final decision on whether to discontinue the service within this year.
