Signs of a personal data breach have been confirmed at the Korea Food Industry Association.
The association announced this fact on its website on June 26 and notified the affected individuals via individual text messages.
The association stated, "Mediopia Tech, the company contracted to operate our education website, confirmed signs of abnormal access suspected to be an external attack and the creation of files containing personal information during a system check on June 24, 2026."
The personal information items suspected to have been leaked include user IDs, encrypted passwords, names, genders, job titles, company phone numbers, mobile phone numbers, and email addresses.
The association added that it has completed emergency security measures, such as isolating the affected server, blocking the attacking IP address, and strengthening firewalls, and is currently cooperating with investigations after reporting the incident to relevant authorities.
