Prime Minister Kim Min-seok hit back today at the People Power Party's criticism of government-led large-scale regional investments, including those by Samsung Electronics and SK in the Honam region, asking, "Is this your true colors of regional discrimination, opposing it just because it is in Honam?"

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister wrote, "Even during the Yoon Suk Yeol administration, it was judged to be an optimal location, wasn't it?"

This appears to be a reference to some media reports suggesting that although Gwangju and South Jeolla Province were not selected in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's competition for the 'National High-Tech Strategic Industry Specialized Complex' in the semiconductor sector in 2023, during the Yoon Suk Yeol administration, they did receive the highest grade.

Prime Minister Kim dismissed the People Power Party's criticism as "opposition for the sake of opposition," adding, "Have your memories even faded?"
