Another civilian vessel has been struck in the Strait of Hormuz following the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.

According to the Associated Press on June 27 (local time), the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a tanker was attacked by an "unknown projectile" in the Strait of Hormuz earlier today.

All crew members on the tanker are reported to be safe.

The party responsible for this attack has not yet been identified.

Iran previously attacked a container ship attempting to exit the Persian Gulf on June 25.

In response to Iran's vessel attacks, the U.S. conducted airstrikes on Iranian missile and drone bases, and Iran subsequently launched counterattacks against U.S. military facilities in the Middle East.

At the time, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated in a release through the state-run IRNA news agency that it had "attacked several bases of the American terrorist army in the Middle East."

The IRGC did not disclose which specific areas were targeted.

While the U.S. and Iran have been engaged in follow-up negotiations regarding nuclear programs and the lifting of sanctions following their ceasefire agreement, tensions appear to be escalating due to the recent series of military clashes.
