Today, June 26, there were not many areas where the perceived temperature exceeded 30°C (86°F).

However, starting tomorrow, many inland areas across the country will see temperatures climb above 30°C (86°F).

In Seoul, daytime temperatures are expected to reach 32°C (90°F) both tomorrow and the day after. Since humidity levels remain relatively low, the perceived temperature will feel slightly lower than the actual temperature.

Please take care to protect yourself from ultraviolet rays during outdoor activities.

The UV index across the country is expected to reach a very high level tomorrow and the day after. In addition, ozone concentrations in the afternoon will be poor, particularly in the Seoul metropolitan area, South Chungcheong Province, and the Honam region. Specifically, levels in the southern part of Gyeonggi Province are expected to reach a very poor level, so it is recommended to stay indoors as much as possible.

Next, let's take a look at today's satellite imagery.

First, we can see two typhoons moving northward to the south of the Korean Peninsula and a stationary front over the waters south of Japan. In contrast, the skies over the Korean Peninsula remain relatively clear.

Tomorrow, skies across the country will remain mostly clear. Strong swells are expected to affect the coasts of Jeju Island and the southern coast until the morning.

Looking at morning temperatures, Seoul will be 19°C (66°F) and Daegu will be 16°C (61°F), which is around or slightly lower than the average for this time of year. Daytime temperatures will be higher, especially in western regions, with Seoul and Daejeon reaching 32°C (90°F).

The scorching heat with temperatures exceeding 30°C (86°F) is expected to continue until early next week. On Sunday, showers are forecast for the Gyeonggi and northern Gangwon regions, and rain is expected on Jeju Island next Wednesday.
