Comedian-turned-author Ko Myung-hwan is continuing his streak as a bestselling writer with his new book, "The Art of Reading."

"The Art of Reading," currently available for pre-order ahead of its official release on July 8, ranked first in overall domestic book sales at major bookstores as of June 25. Following its top ranking at Kyobo Book Centre the previous day, the book has consecutively topped the charts at major online bookstores in Korea, proving its immense popularity. Despite being in the pre-order phase, the book has recorded high sales figures, drawing significant attention from readers.

Ko expressed his overwhelming gratitude on his social media, stating, "Yesterday, it was No. 1 at Kyobo, and today it's No. 1 overall at Yes24! Thank you so, so much!!!" He added, "It's No. 1 overall again today!!! Thank you!!!"

"The Art of Reading" carries the message that "reading is no longer just a hobby; it is a means of survival." The book encapsulates the reading methods and life changes the author has experienced after reading over 3,000 books during the past 20 years. Based on his own experiences, the author explains in detail why one should read and how to read effectively.

The publisher introduced the book as "a guide that presents reading as the most practical weapon for life to those living in an anxious era," adding, "It contains the author's experiences of solving life's problems through books and various reading methods."

After his career as a comedian, Ko has carved out a new path as an author, lecturer, and entrepreneur. He has published numerous bestsellers, including "The Classics Answered: On the Life We Should Live," "How I Find Answers in Life," and "This Book Is About How to Make Money." Last year, he was named "Author of the Year" at the 11th Kyobo Book Centre Publishing Awards, sharing the honor with author Han Kang.
