We previously reported on the story of a citizen who rescued a Taiwanese couple from an intoxicated individual at Gangnam Station a few days ago. It turns out the person in question has come forward.
On the night of June 19, an intoxicated individual threatened a Taiwanese couple in wheelchairs on the subway platform at Gangnam Station.
A citizen who witnessed the incident blocked the intoxicated person with an umbrella, called the police to resolve the situation, and even apologized to the couple on behalf of the individual.
Afterward, the couple posted a message on social media looking for the "Good Samaritan of Gangnam Station," and the man finally left a comment himself.
The man, who introduced himself as "Yeon-woo's dad, who was wearing a white shirt and holding a black umbrella," stated, "Seeing someone acting in a threatening manner toward visitors who came to Korea from afar, my first thought was that I had to help."
He also expressed his apologies, saying, "I hope they return home with only good memories of South Korea."
In response, the Taiwanese couple said, "The courage you showed that day was not just a simple act of help, but a great inspiration and a salvation," and expressed their wish to repay him if he ever visits Taiwan in the future.
