Kim Yong-beom, Chief of Staff for Policy to the President, stated that discussions regarding the potential establishment of a second semiconductor cluster in regions such as Honam and Chungcheong are in the final stages.

During a Kwanhun Club debate held at the Korea Press Center in Seoul, Kim reiterated the necessity of creating regional clusters, noting that semiconductor demand is exploding under current trends and that the Seoul metropolitan area lacks sufficient land, electricity, and water resources.

However, he emphasized that this is a concept of adding a new cluster, not relocating the Yongin cluster currently under construction.
