It has recently come to light that all staff members at an apartment management office in Ulsan collectively submitted their resignations, bringing the issue of workplace harassment in apartment complexes to the surface.
A post regarding the mass resignation recently appeared on an online community, drawing significant attention.
While the incident reportedly took place last year, it has regained attention as issues concerning workplace harassment within apartment complexes continue to be raised.
The post includes a photo of a notice posted in the apartment's elevator.
In the notice, the staff explained the reason for their collective resignation, stating, "We have determined that it is no longer possible to perform our duties normally due to the repetitive and structural problems caused by some apartment representatives."
Specifically, they cited unfair shifting of responsibility, verbal abuse, and unreasonable work directives as the reasons for their departure.
As this mass resignation incident is being re-examined, there is growing momentum for calls to improve issues related to the abuse of power and emotional labor occurring at apartment management sites.
