A commotion occurred at an apartment shopping center in Sindang-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, after a training shell was discovered, leading to the evacuation of over 20 people.
According to the Seoul Jungbu Police Station on Tuesday (June 23), a report was received at 4:40 p.m. that an object suspected to be a shell had been found at the shopping center.
Military authorities confirmed that the shell was for training purposes and posed no danger as it lacked a detonator and explosives.
The shell has been recovered by the military.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding how the shell was discovered.
