Actor Baek Hyun-jin has confirmed his appearance in the Netflix series 'First Doctor.'

The Netflix series 'First Doctor' is a human medical drama that depicts the breathless stories unfolding at the forefront of life, where the most fragile lives are faced, centering on Heo Ji-wan (played by Jung Ryeo-won), a doctor pushed to the edge, and a pediatric surgery department on the brink of closure. The cast includes Kim Mu-yeol, Jung Ryeo-won, Ha Yoon-kyung, and Kim Jong-soo.

In the series, Baek Hyun-jin plays 'Son Sang-baek,' a professor of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery and the head of the surgery department at Yeonhwadae Hospital. Although Son is a professor with exceptional skills and deep trust within the hospital, he is a character who constantly obstructs Heo Ji-wan's path following her return to Yeonhwadae Hospital. Through this project, Baek is expected to heighten the show's immersion by portraying the multi-layered aspects of his character with realistic acting.

Baek Hyun-jin has established his own unique presence by showcasing both a bold screen presence and delicate expressive power in every project. Notably, in the recently concluded ENA drama 'Scarecrow,' he left a deep impression by playing Kim Man-chun, a team leader at Gangseong Police Station, who displayed responsible and righteous actions at every critical moment.

He has also convincingly completed a variety of characters, including Yang Jae-seung, an executive at JU Construction in tvN's 'The Auditors'; Goo Gyeong-mo, a police chief in ENA's 'Crash'; Jin-cheon, a former Agency for National Security Planning agent in Disney+'s 'Moving'; and Park Yang-jin, the chairman of a web hard company in SBS's 'Taxi Driver.'

The series is highly anticipated as it marks the reunion of director Hong Jong-chan and writer Kim Min-seok, who previously received acclaim for the series 'Juvenile Justice.'

'First Doctor' will be released on Netflix.
