Lee Joon-gi in Talks to Reunite with Director Ahn Tae-jin After 21 Years for Historical Film 'SHAVING'

Actor Lee Joon-gi is set to reunite with director Ahn Tae-jin, with whom he first crossed paths in the film 'The King and the Clown'.

According to his agency, Namoo Actors, Lee Joon-gi has received an offer to star in 'SHAVING' and is currently reviewing it positively.

Set against the backdrop of the northern border region of the Joseon Dynasty, 'SHAVING' tells the story of Tae-san, a former military officer living in hiding in the mountains. It is reported that Lee Joon-gi has been offered the role of the villain.

The film will be directed by Ahn Tae-jin, who drew 3.32 million viewers with the historical film 'The Night Owl' (2022). Director Ahn previously worked as an assistant director on 'The King and the Clown' (2005), the film that launched Lee Joon-gi to stardom. If this casting is confirmed, the two will be reuniting on a project for the first time in 21 years.

The film is being produced by Onda Works, the production company behind the 16-million-viewer hit 'The King's Warden'.

'SHAVING' will be produced as a Netflix original film and is scheduled to begin filming this August.
