A quality comparison of women's rash guards currently on the market has revealed differences in drying speed and durability among products.

However, all tested products demonstrated excellent levels of ultraviolet (UV) protection and safety.

The Korea Consumer Agency (KCA) released the results of tests conducted on 9 top-selling brands, evaluating the functionality, durability, and safety of 9 sets of women's rash guard tops and bottoms.

The test results showed that for tops, Lazybee's "Essential Loose Fit Women's Zip-up" had the fastest drying speed, while for bottoms, Renoma's "Women's Solid Wrap Water Leggings" and Roxy's "Together Surfing 3" received relatively higher ratings.

In terms of stretch recovery—the ability of the fabric to return to its original state after being stretched—the Lazybee top, as well as the bottoms from Roxy, Barrel, and Andar, performed well.

Meanwhile, all products achieved a "UPF 50+" rating for UV protection, even when dry, wet, or after six wash cycles.

A UPF 50+ rating generally indicates that the fabric blocks more than 98% of UV rays.

However, in colorfastness tests, the shorts portion of Xexymix's "Black Label Signature Life Two-in-One Leggings" failed to meet the recommended standards for water colorfastness.

Water colorfastness refers to the degree to which color bleeds when the fabric is wet.

All products passed the safety tests for hazardous substances, meeting the relevant standards.

Regarding labeling, Lazybee was found to be non-compliant for displaying a KC mark on its product tag, despite the product not being subject to KC certification.

Roxy and Arena were found to have inconsistent laundry care instructions, raising concerns about the reliability of their product information.

In terms of price, Musinsa Standard Sports was the most affordable at 99,800 won for a set, while Roxy was the most expensive at 214,000 won, showing a price difference of up to 2.1 times between products.
