
Renowned manhwa artist Huh Young-man is temporarily halting all public activities due to health concerns.
On the 17th, Huh Young-man's agency released an official statement, saying, "Recently, Huh Young-man has experienced health issues. Following medical advice, he is currently focusing on treatment and recovery. He will be taking a break from all public activities for the time being to prioritize his stability."
As a result, TV Chosun's 'Sikgaek Huh Young-man's Baekban Journey,' which he has hosted, will conclude its first season.
The agency stated, "We have decided to wrap up the program after discussions with the production team," adding, "We would like to express our deep gratitude to the production staff and cast who have worked together on the program for the past seven years, as well as to all the viewers."
TV Chosun also commented, "We are bringing this journey to a close due to the health reasons of Huh, who is approaching his 80th birthday. To comfort the viewers who will miss the show, we plan to air a special episode that encapsulates the touching moments and culinary journey of the past seven years."
Huh debuted in 1974 with 'Finding Home,' which won the Hankook Ilbo New Artist Manhwa Contest. He established himself as a representative figure in the Korean manhwa industry by creating numerous iconic works such as 'Gaksital,' 'Fly! Super Board,' 'Tazza,' 'Sikgaek,' and more. Since 2019, he has received consistent love from viewers through 'Sikgaek Huh Young-man's Baekban Journey,' where he introduced hidden local restaurants and the stories of the people behind them.
