Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, announced through state television that the war and all military operations across multiple fronts, including Lebanon, will end immediately and permanently.

He stated that Iran's implementation of its obligations under this agreement will take effect starting June 19.

[Kazem Gharibabadi/Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran (Phone Interview): The text of the memorandum of understanding has been finalized. The official signing is scheduled to take place this coming Friday with the participation of key parties.]

Regarding the final negotiation process, Deputy Minister Gharibabadi explained, "A Qatari delegation visited Iran, and we held talks for about 15 hours," adding, "We did not agree to the memorandum of understanding until the final points of contention and requirements were reflected in the agreement."

He further assessed the agreement by stating, "This memorandum is not merely a product of diplomacy, but the result of a combination of Iran's military achievements, the blood of martyrs, the firm will of the people, support for the armed forces, and the measures taken by the Supreme Leader of the Revolution."

He also noted that negotiations for a final agreement would continue for 60 days, warning that if there are any "violations by the opposing side," the Iranian government will take its own measures.

Deputy Minister Gharibabadi specifically claimed, "The enemy, which waged war to achieve evil goals, has been defeated in all its objectives, and Iran has achieved a great victory in this war."

While Iran had continued the war by putting the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz at the forefront, analysts suggest it chose to compromise due to the United States' comprehensive naval blockade, the military burden of facing the U.S., and deteriorating domestic public sentiment.

In particular, the already struggling economy took a major hit as the value of the Iranian rial hit an all-time low due to the U.S. naval blockade.

It is reported that Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the chief negotiator for the ceasefire, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will attend the signing ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland.
