According to police and fire authorities on June 14, a hiker in their 60s at Bongjeongam Hermitage on Seoraksan Mountain in Yongdae-ri, Buk-myeon, Inje-gun, was airlifted by helicopter at 2:30 p.m. that day after experiencing symptoms including paralysis in their left arm and leg.
Earlier that day at 1:55 p.m., a person in their 50s who was rock climbing at Ulsanbawi Rock on Seoraksan Mountain in Sokcho fell and was rescued by mountain rescue teams, but was later pronounced dead.

Additionally, at 7:26 a.m., a person in their 60s fell 10 meters while on a hiking trail heading toward the Dokjugol Valley from the Namseorak Visitor Center in Seomyeon, Yangyang-gun. The individual sustained injuries to their legs and head and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
